Local Immersion Experiences with Your Native Spanish Teacher

Learning Spanish goes beyond the classroom—it’s about real-world connections. As part of our journey, I take my students to local immersion experiences right here in our towns, where you’ll have the opportunity to practice what you’ve learned and interact with native Spanish speakers in authentic settings.

These outings are not just about speaking Spanish—they’re about embracing the process. Together, we create a non-judgmental environment where mistakes are welcomed as stepping stones to success.

With me by your side, you’ll feel supported and confident as you build meaningful connections and grow your language skills through real-life interactions.

What Our Clients Are Saying About Learn Quick Spanish

We started doing Spanish lessons with Yanina in April of this year. We had asked Yanina to come to our office once a week and give us lessons to learn basic Spanish to enable us to communicate better with our crews.

Yanina has put together a personal program for our company allowing us to learn Spanish that would assist us within our workplace.
She is flexible when we need to relearn some items and adjusts the lessons as we move forward to suit our needs.

It has been an absolute pleasure working with her, and we all understand Spanish a lot more, can read Spanish and are starting to get to the point where we can communicate with confidence in Spanish. We plan to continue doing lessons with her for the unforeseeable future.

We highly recommend Yanina for your Spanish learning needs and for a personalized program.

Creating Cultural Bridges Through the Spanish Language

Yanina has been especially effective working with the Hispanic residents who are often left out of formal community planning efforts. She saw this weakness and took on the cause of increasing Hispanic participation in community matters. One of her major accomplishments was engaging the Hispanic residents in the Basalt Master Planning effort ensuring that they had a voice in these critical proceedings. This was the first time that Hispanic residents were involved in a public effort to represent their issues.

She was amazing in how she created an atmosphere for people to feel safe to participate in these community programs and policy matters. To secure their participation she had to gain the residents’ trust, understand their sense of community and how they functioned in their own and the larger community. This was accomplished through her unique ability to be an advocate and liaison between the Hispanic community and the Town of Basalt without polarizing the situations.

Yanina has been instrumental in pioneering, not only Hispanic access to decision-making bodies, but assisting people in multiple complicated situations throughout the Roaring Fork Valley. Her focus on fairness and compassion gains the trust and respect of the people for whom she works as well as the people she serves. Yanina is a unique individual who can adapt successfully to any situation that she faces.

My team and I have worked with Yanina in many different capacities from influencing policy matters, to advocating for affordable housing, to making and presenting documentaries on Hispanic life and issues, as well as issue forums.

MEET YOUR SPANISH TEACHER

I’m Yanina, and I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a native Spanish speaker who grew up in South America and began teaching Spanish over 20 years ago, first as a volunteer and gradually developing my passion for helping others learn the language. Over the years, I’ve gained extensive real-world experience through more than 12 years of legal, medical, and community interpreting, which allows me to bring practical Spanish into the classroom.

I am also a
published author with books available in the USA, Europe, and South America. In addition to Spanish, I speak French, Italian, and Portuguese. My multilingual skills allow me to connect with diverse learners and cultures effectively.

Beyond teaching, I have had the privilege of contributing to the Roaring Fork Valley through diverse community projects, such as serving as a liaison to bridge the gap between the Hispanic community and local town officials. In 2004, I was honored with the Jackie Morales Distinguished Award for Community Service, recognizing my dedication to fostering connections within the community. These experiences have profoundly deepened my cultural expertise and highlighted the essential role of language as a bridge for connection and understanding.

I am also a DELE Accredited Examiner for all levels of Spanish. The DELE exam (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera) is widely considered the most recognized Spanish language test globally.

Teaching Spanish is my passion, and I’m committed to creating a warm, supportive environment where you feel encouraged every step of the way.

What language levels do the courses cover?

Our courses follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and are available for all levels from A1 to C2 (Beginner to Mastery).

Each 16-week course (1.5 hours, twice per week) is designed as a guided course to build a strong foundation in Spanish. While this initial course will not fully reach the A1 level, students can make even greater progress through additional self-study and practice between classes.

Most learners need approximately 90–120 hours of guided classes and 30–50 hours of self-study to achieve full A1 (Beginner) competency, totaling around 120–170 hours. Upon completion, your instructor will assess your progress and can provide a follow-up package to help you achieve full A1 competency or advance to higher levels.

If you’re unsure of your current level, you can take our free Placement Test to start at the right point.

What level of Spanish do I need to start these courses?

You don’t need any prior knowledge of Spanish to join! Our courses are customized to your specific language needs, accommodating all levels—from beginner to mastery—aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Before starting classes, we provide a free placement test and a review of your current language level to ensure you’re placed in the most suitable program for your goals and abilities.

How Long Does It Take to Reach Each Level of Spanish?

The time it takes to improve your Spanish skills depends on factors like your starting level, the time you dedicate to practice, and your individual learning pace.
